A Good Domain Name for List Building & Easy Click Tracking Setup – (Day 2/30) #DollarDash

When it comes to building a email marketing business the 2 things you must have to be effective are:

  1. A Domain Name
  2. Click Tracking

In today’s video (Day 2/30) – I chose the domain name that I can use for my 30-day Email Business DollarDash.  My recommendation is that you should not invest too much time and stress yourself out trying to buy the perfect domain name.

The domain name you choose should be:

  • Easy to remember
  • catchy
  • 1-3 words
  • Goes with the theme of your offers

Some examples: imrealityshow.com and copymeprofit.com.

The fastest way to come up with a domain name when using “Done For You Automated Systems” is to look at the squeeze page that has been provided to you and try to use some of the words on the page.

Try to keep the “Theme” of your offer AND what you will be promoting to your new list in mind when choosing a domain name.  The quickest way to find these domain names is to think of some important key words in your niche.

For affiliate marketing and email marketing, those keywords are:

  • List
  • Growth
  • Building
  • Email
  • Inbox
  • affiliate
  • Job
  • Blueprint
  • Passive
  • Profits
  • Lifestyle

Combining these words and/or creating interesting wordplays help you finalize your domain name.

Once you’ve registered your domain name, then it’s time to set it up your Click Tracking.  This is very important because this is what will allow you to see what’s working and what is wasting your money.

While there are many different tools you could use to track clicks to your system, the Earn Easy Commissions System is integrated with ClickMagick.

There are a couple ways you can add your domain name to ClickMagick but I recommend that you get your own hosting (NOT MANDATORY) so you can have some flexibility on what you do with that domain name.

So instead of your tracking link being www.bestdomainname.com your tracking link might be something like http://track.bestdomainname.com.

This would allow you to add a website to your domain name at a later date if you choose and you would not have to mess up your tracking.

This also allows you to have an email address like john@bestdomainname.com

If you choose to also get your own hosting, then I recommend starting up with Hostgator.com for your shared hosting because they have been good to me over the years..

I recommend purchasing your domain name at namecheap.com and point your domain name to your hosting at hostgator.  Again, this is mainly to allow you some flexibility because sometimes hosting companies can be troublesome if they decide to close your hosting account and all of your domain names are with them.

Once the domain name has been added to your ClickMagick tracker you are almost ready to start sending traffic to your squeeze page.

The one thing I suggest you do before sending traffic is to create 7 Facebook Custom Audiences:

The FIRST step is to build AUDIENCES inside Facebook Ads Manager.

We need to create TWO types of audiences:

#1. People who visited any page on our website.

The people who visited any landing page will be further classified as:

  • People who visited in the last 1 day.
  • People who visited in the last 7 days.
  • People who visited in the last 15 days.
  • People who visited in the last 90 days

To this audience, we will be initially showing them the optin page then another version of the optin page and maybe even send them to a review page we create.  Finally we’ll try yet again – this time the affiliate offer. NOTE! With the “Make Money Online” niche, it is best to send this traffic to a review page you create because Facebook is a little sensitive to these types of offers and you want to keep your Facebook account clean.

#2. People who subscribed to our email list.

For this, we’ve already set up a custom audience for all subscribers.

We we classify them further as:

  • People who subscribed in the last 5 days.
  • People who subscribed in the last 15 days.
  • People who subscribed in the last 180 days

That’s it!

Once these audiences are set up, we head over to the Ad Manager and start creating our first ad.

We are almost ready to start sending traffic and technically we can, but we have a bit more work to do.

There’s still a LOT to be done, like:

  1. Setting up our website on our hosting
  2. Setting up a review page
  3. Creating another squeeze page
  4. Setting up our ads for visitors
  5. Setting up retargeting ads for LEADS
  6. Setting up Day 7 and Day 15 retargeting ads for visitors
  7. Trying different sources of traffic
  8. And most importantly… adding more autoresponders.
  9. Finding other offers to promote to our list

We are making some great progress and I am happy with where we are right now.

I look forward to reading and replying to your comments 🙂
